Teenager Stabbed to Death breaking up a fight

A Teenager stabbed to death during a house party in south east London was trying to break up a fight, it was claimed today.
Nathaniel Brown, 16, suffered a fatal chest injury after being attacked in the early hours of yesterday at a house in Grove Park.
Distraught family members gathered hours later on Launcelot Road, where the incident took place, trying to discover what happened. Three males were arrested and taken into custody at a south London police station.
Speaking near the scene of the murder, Nathaniel’s father, who did not want to be named, said: “My boy has been stabbed. I don’t even know what happened. He has been stabbed, that is all I know.”
A family friend, who gave his name as Philip, said: “It was a small gathering of youngsters. We believe he stepped in to try and stop an argument that was going on.
“It is the same old story, he got it. It is terrible, black on black knife crime. It got out of hand.”
Tributes were paid on Twitter to the 16-year-old, known as Natz. One friend wrote: “I’ll never forget the days we used to roll, gone but never forgotten Natz, can’t believe what I’m hearing.”
Residents near the house, which is opposite Haberdashers Aske’s Knights Academy and 100 metres from a primary school, were awoken early to discover the road sealed off by police.
One neighbour said: “Apparently it might have been a party, I don’t think the boy lives around here. I saw the mum on the street and she tried to run inside, but they wouldn’t let her in.
“She was distraught, she was being held up. I think there are lots of family members here. I think the family just want justice for their son.
“The police knocked at 6am doing door-to-door enquiries. We are trying to find out what has happened because our safety is at stake. Right now it is all hearsay.”
Three males aged between 16 and 18 have been arrested in connection with the death and were last night in custody at a south London police station.
A police spokesman said: “We retain an open mind as to the motive at this early stage and are actively seeking any information, which can be provided in confidence.”
