Update on Neighbourhood Priorities

Stapleford Cluster Safer Neighbourhood Committee updates from 19th July 2012
The new Priorities for the next three months are:-
1. Vehicle Nuisance- Speeding-Parking
2. Burglary
3. Anti-Social Behaviour
 
July 2012 Update
 
Vehicle Nuisance
 
YOU SAID
Speeding motorists from Ilkeston Road through to Hickings Lane causing concern to pedestrians and other road users.
 
WE DID.
Beat officers and Special Constables have conducted speed checks using the hand held speed gun in problem areas. There have been 28 vehicle stopped, 25 of these vehicles were given verbal warnings and 3 were given a fixed penalty notice.
 
Burglary
 
YOU SAID
Burglary was a concern for the local area
 
WE DID
The local beat teams have target hardened specific areas or repeat burglary locations. Residents have been provided with burglary prevention leaflets and officers have highlighted potential targets such as open windows/doors to properties when on patrol. Known offenders are being monitored by local beat teams.
 
Anti-Social Behaviour
 
YOU SAID
Concerns were raised by residents on the increase of Anti –Social Behaviour in the area.
 
WE DID
We have increased high visibility patrols by all officers within the area at hotspot locations.
High visibility patrols have been increased in the area and we are working in conjunction with Broxtowe Borough Council Anti-social-behaviour officer and CCTV. Parents have been visited and suitable advice given reference behaviour of their children.
