Each month the Broadmarsh Beat Team hold a beat surgery in Café Rouge on Bridlesmith Gate.Unfortunately this venue has now closed down so the surgery will not be running until a suitable replacement location can be found.
Over the past few months the city centre teams have been conducting high visibility patrols throughout various stores in the city centre to deter shop theft. This has seen a positive response from stores so this will be continued throughout August.
We have recently seen an increase in bicycle thefts across the whole of the city centre from cycle racks where individuals have been cutting through chain locks and removing the bicycle. To help protect your bicycle consider switching from the chain lock to the more secure D locks, or where possible, using one of each for improved security.
We would also recommend signing up to Immobilise and registering your bicycle’s serial number, the service can also be used to register serial numbers of mobile phones and other property which has a unique serial number attached. This is completely free and used by police forces across the country.
Officers from the local teams will be out and about in the city centre to promote the Immobilise service to cyclists as well as helping with other security advice.
To further protect your valuables consider protecting property using the smart water and Immobilise products we can provide, which are further explained below. |
