Crime over all continues to fall. It is down 24% for the year to date which means there have been 188 less victims of crime. Acquisitive crime has reduced by 7% with the sharpest drop being in shop thefts which are down 55%. There has been a slight increase in vehicle crime over the past seven days with motor bikes and scooters being the main targets. These crimes have no definite pattern and would appear to be opportunistic so we would ask all owners to be vigilant. Take basic precautions like fitting an alarm or immobiliser. Put security marking on as many parts of your motor bike or scooter as possible to make it less attractive to thieves. When at home use additional security locks and chains.
