Have Your Say on local funding bids

Alert message sent 04/05/2012 13:16:00
Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Neighbourhood Watch
The Harborough Be Safe scheme holds a regular stall at the indoor market in Market Harborough, offering free safety advice and support to up to visitors each month. This includes distributing more than 10,000 purse bells and chains to protect shoppers from purse dipping and handbag theft. The scheme also receives a high number of referrals through the stall.

Our records show that we engage with the local community by offering free safety advice and offer support to some 100 + visitors each month. We have distributed more than 10,000 purse bells and over 5000 purse chains to protect shoppers from purse dipping and handbag theft purchased using Community Cash back funding in 2009. This funding has now been used and we are seeking to ensure that this valuable service can continue.

As Harborough Be Safe begins its 10th year of operation, we are pursuing funding to further support the crime reduction amongst those most vulnerable within our community and to raise the awareness of simple enhanced crime prevention to those groups, regular market stall appearances and radio broadcast on HFM assist in both promoting awareness and vigilance.

We have applied for  £2651  funding from the Community Forum Budget to ensure that we can continue our market stall during 2012-13
