Three Day Flood Risk Forecast for the Midlands
Alert message sent 29/04/2012 15:05:00
Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network
Neighbourhood Watch members across the East Midlands are being asked to check on their elderly and vulnerable residents, especially those who live in areas at risk of flooding.
Widespread heavy rain across much of England and Wales through today (Sunday 29th April) is likely to result in localised flooding of land, road and some properties.
Larger rivers are likely to respond, particularly the river Severn and tributaries, where more extensive disruption is possible.
The risk of flooding extends into Monday (30th April) on large and slow-responding rivers. On Tuesday (1st May) there is a low risk of localised flooding for parts of southern and eastern England, the southern Midlands and south Wales.
The most up to date local flood warning information can be found on the Environment Agency website at : http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/3days/125305.aspx
