There have been significant reductions in crime during July when compared to the previous month. We have seen a 23.5% reduction in vehicle crime, burglaries of garages, sheds and commercial premises is down 81.3% and criminal damage has dropped by 40%. A considerable amount of work has been done to combat incidents of criminal damage and burglaries and the reductions prove that our operations have had a positive impact.
However, we couldn't have achieved these results without your help. Please continue to ensure your home, sheds, outbuildings and property is left secure, that windows and doors are locked and consider asking a neighbour to check on your house if you're going on holiday. Continue to report any suspicious activity and please don't hesitate to contact a member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team if you have any concerns.
Last month there was a spate of thefts from bags in supermarkets in and around the town. The person believed to be responsible for the majority of these incidents has been arrested and dealt with by colleagues in CID.
As always if you have any information in relation to crime or anti-social behaviour in our area please call us on 101. In an emergency, such as when a life is in danger or a crime is in progress, call 999. Information about crime can also be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Thank you,
Andy Goodall,
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector,
Bulwell and Bulwell Forest.
