Man dies in crash

 

A motorcyclist has died following a road collision in Bircotes.

 

The crash, between a motorbike and a Ford Focus car, happened in Blyth Road (A614), near to the junction with Scrooby Road, at about 3.15pm today (Monday 18 June 2012).

 

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the car was treated for shock.

 

Blyth Road, between Serlby Crossroads and the junction with Scrooby Road, has been closed until further notice while police carry out their enquiries.

 

Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Unit on 101, extension 800 2225, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
