Crime Report - Ashfield South, for the week to Thursday 31 March 2016.
 
Crimes reported over the past seven days.
 
Good News
“On the 24th March 2016 an elderly female dropped her purse in Portland Road area of Hucknall.  The purse was subsequently picked up by a female offender who then ran off.  Assistance from a member of the public led to the arrest of the offender who has now been charged to court for theft.  The lady in question has had her property returned.  This is a prime example of community cohesion at its best.” 
 
 
Burglary Dwelling
Between 3.00pm on Friday 25 March and 1.30pm on Saturday 26 March in Davy Close, Linby, a  rear patio door to a house was forced and a 32inch
 Samsung TV was stolen.
 
Burglary Other
Between 7.45am and 4.45pm on Friday 25 March in St John’s Crescent, Hucknall, an attempt was made to force the lock on an outside brick building.  No entry was gained.
 
Between 9.30pm on Wednesday 23 March and 5.45am on Thursday 24 March at the Co-op in Nottingham Road, Selston, alarm cables were cut and the shop was entered.  Cigarettes were stolen.
 
At 11.30pm on Tuesday 29 March the Betfred premises in Ruffs Drive, Hucknall, was entered by forcing the fire door.  A fruit machine was damaged.
 
Theft of motor vehicle
None reported.
 
Theft from motor vehicle
At 8.00pm on Thursday 24 March in Middlebrook Road, Bagthorpe, windscreen wipers and the radio aerial were stolen from a Mini.
 
Between 4.00pm on Saturday 26 March and 9.00am on Sunday 27 March in Sedgwick Street, Jacksdale, a SatNav, jeans, CDs, earphones and some small change was stolen from an insecure vehicle.
 
Between 7.30pm on Thursday 24 March and 8.10am on Friday 25 March in Trent Drive, Hucknall, the front number plate was stolen from a Mercedes Kompressor.
 
We have had a number of incidents involving the theft of number plates over the past two months.  Please report any thefts that occur as the plates may be put on other vehicles to be used in crime or to avoid paying for fuel or congestion charges.
