Community Protection Officers continue to note that in the town centre car parks owners are still leaving valuable items on display, often in unsecured vehicles, despite previous warnings. Under operation Divot proactive police officers are on patrol overnight and are able to respond to your tip-offs of any suspicious activity. Last week, in the Dalebrook Crescent area, police received a tip-off about two persons trying car doors at 4.00am. As a result of this information two men were arrested and are currently on bail with a night time curfew. The only other car crime in the past week was on Stainsborough Road when a computer was stolen from the back seat of a car. Do not become the next victim. Always remove or hide away valuable items and make sure you have locked your vehicle when leaving it unattended. In the last week there has only been one reported Burglary, this was a distraction burglary and an arrest has been made in connection to this crime. Over all, reported crime so far this month, is down 24% when compared to the same period last year.
