Information sent on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police
Tuesday 1 May 2012
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Malakai McKenzie.

He was arrested today (Tuesday 1 May 2012) on suspicion of murder.

Officers from across the East Midlands are dedicated to investigating the murder of 19-year-old Mr McKenzie, who was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries during the early hours of Saturday 21 April 2012. He died later that day.

A Home Office post-mortem examination concluded that he died from a gunshot wound.

Police believe Mr McKenzie, from Nottingham, sustained the fatal injury during a firearms incident in the car park of The Hubb, in Hucknall Road, Sherwood, at about 3.30am on Saturday 21 April.
Four people have already been arrested in connection with the incident.

Three men, aged 19 and 17, and 24, and a 21-year-old woman, have all been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detectives still want to hear from anyone with information, in particular people who attended a party at The Hubb and taxi drivers who may have picked up people from the venue.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 0115 844 6913, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
